(More customer reviews)I line dry all of our laundry to help save energy. Dryers use an incredible amount of electricity and gas, both of which contribute to the environmental problems we face today. One big benefit to line drying is money savings in both utility costs and wear and tear on fabrics, not to mention the fabulous smell of line dried laundry. I have a standard clothesline and a regular folding dryer rack, but I needed more space and a line I could use inside when it was raining. I looked at every product on the market in the US, and I immediately loved the Handy line, but I balked at the price. Finally, I placed my order and I could not be happier with this product. It is light and well made with just the right amount of space between the lines. I can hang two full loads on it (for example: 6-8 pairs of men's jeans or queen size sheets, 4 pillowcases and two blankets or three loads of kid's clothes.) The only con to the handy line is its weight. I anchor mine when it's windy outside or the whole thing tips over. Overall, this is an excellent product for someone who line dries most or all of their laundry. My family saved 100 killowatt hours in one month by not using the dryer, and it would have been much more difficult without my Mrs. Pegg's!

Harman Kardon HTFS2 Floor Stands for Select HKTS and HKS Speakers Review

(More customer reviews)These are very nice, attractive stands that mate well with the speakers in the Harman Kardon HKTS14 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System. I bought two sets of stands from Amazon and was disappointed in both cases to find that the bases, which consist of a heavy cast iron core piece with an aluminum shell, all arrived with small dents on the edge of the aluminum. Although the columns are well packed in bubble wrap, the bases are packed in tight fitting cardboard boxes without padding. Any bump in shipment can cause the dents. I called Harman Kardon Customer Service to suggest that their Asian supplier use some styrofoam padding. They referred me to their Parts Department, who sent me a new pair of stands gratis packed in the normal packaging. They are also dented. I appreciate the extra stands as I need them for the rear surround speakers just ordered. The dents won't be noticeable to the casual viewer so don't let this deter you from buying the stands. They really are nice.

I use it at least once a week. It only measures 8" wide so it takes up very little shelf space. A great piece of equipment, in my opinion.

(More customer reviews)I have owned this slow cooker for two years. It was less than six months old when it began to show signs of wear. The black plastic around the keypad cracked and has slowly chipped off in small pieces ever since them. Currently, more than half of it is missing. I have also had to reattach the feet on 3 different occasions. On the other hand, I have not had any problems that affect its function; the machine works well.
I would not recommend this item--although it works adequately, I expect better quality in this price range and from All Clad in general.

Solar Lamp Post Light - Coach Light Review

(More customer reviews)The post for my gas lamp rusted out and I wanted to "go Green" and save some money on my gas bill with a solar powered model. I looked at other models online and was about to get the GamaSonic GS-94F for about $129. I noticed this model on Amazon for $119. I was able to pick one up that looks identical to this one at Menards for about $69! I got an 80" aluminum post ($29... on clearance for $2 at Lowes) and after some grunt work to remove the old cement embedded post, had the new post installed in fresh cement and plumb. The next morning I installed the lamp. (Be sure to turn it on!) It provides about as much light as my two mantel gas lantern, so I am very happy so far. Has 3 AA rechargeable batteries included (has space for 6?) Not sure about the bracket on the Amazon model, there was no such bracket in my box. The small set screws used to secure to the post barely had enough space to tighten so I drilled out and tapped 3 holes in the post and it is now very secure. One of the heads of the two screws holding the lid on was loose from the shaft. (Hence 4 and not 5 stars.) Not sure why Home Depot and Lowes do not carry solar post lamps. (They all have solar landscape lights.) Menards had three models to choose from in the "Enchanted Garden" brand. I would urge you to consider going solar! My neighbor will likely get one. He has his gas turned of to save $$, There should be a tax credit for this device!

You can also burn it mercilessly over and over again, and the burn comes off completely every time without impairing the pan's looks or functionality - all it needs is soaking. Things do stick to it if you use it for frying, as it's not Teflon, but the durability of the pan far outweighs the inconvenience of occasional sticking. The pan keeps temperature even and stays hot long after the heat source is turned off provided you keep the lid on. The shape and size of the pan also make it extremely versatile. It really is an excellent value for your money.

Little Chief Front Loading Home Electric Smoker Review

(More customer reviews)I have used a Big Chief for years and decided to leave it at my girlfriends house and pick up a Little Chief. I like the smaller size and also the front loading. I never filled the big chief or even came close so I was heating lots of air. The Little Chief shares its big brothers ability to make some absolutely terrific smoked foods. Chicken and steak smoked and then grilled are awesome. Smoked salmon is my favorite. Very easy, I never mess with brine unless I am smoking bacon or making some sausage. I have used much more expensive smokers and while they are nice they don't make food taste one bit better. This unit would get five stars except it is not as well built as the Big Chief. The metal seems thinner and the racks are kind of flimsy. Would still recommend without hesitation. Also make great gifts. We have given several and they gets lots of use and compliments.

The Roti models are made in China (not America like the rest of the All Clad pots and pans) out of a non-magnetized stainless steel. They're not designed for use on induction or conventional stove tops (a common step in the preparation of gravy).
A curiousity: The All Clad Web site doesn't appear to list the Roti models. I couldn't find it under any category. This model is an orphan.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this pump for a makeshift greywater system to pump water out of my plugged bathtub/shower, out of the window and into an elevated tank outside. This pump operates as quietly and unobtrusively as one could want and combined with a HydroCheck water level switch, everything is automatic. The grating at the bottom of the unit is easily removable and I'd recommend fitting some screen window material there for a slightly finer filter that doesn't obstruct the water flow too much. Soapy water is not a problem. I'm pumping the water through about 30' of hose and pvc pipe, with a total of about 12' of elevation. I use about 15' of 5/8 I.D. garden hose and 15' of 1" pvc pipe. This pump works quite well for my application, since the water level only rises as fast as my shower fills the tub. If it pumped any faster, there would probably be too much cycling and running dry. I originally considered a 1/2 HP pump but I'm glad I went with this one.

It is much prettier, sturdier and heavier than the plastic model, but I would not recommend it for seating large adults. I haven't had a chance to use it on a camping trip, but it worked great as an outdoor buffet table. It also came in handy when I needed a "kiddie" table for a family dinner. I found the wood is prone to splintering if it catches on clothing, but nothing that I couldn't fix with some wood glue. Overall - the table is just adorable & gets lots of compliments.

DR8706-2P Calphalon One 6.5 Qt Pot With Pasta Insert Review

My only issue is i do not like the hard anodized material. It is not that easy to clean, it gets a rainbow effect when heated to high. I would prefer this pot with these handles but a stainless steel finish.

(More customer reviews)After our cat walked through one time we have had to tape the door open or he will refuse to walk through again. The door closed (rather hard) on his tail. I felt really bad for him, as I encouraged him to walk through this thing. It didn't hurt him enough to upset him, only enough to irritate him. (He didn't yeowl or hiss, etc. but he did turn around and glare at the door, and then at me.)
If that fuzzy stuff on the plexiglass part (between the plexiglass and the frame) were longer, or fuzzier, maybe it would be gentler on cats' tails.
I feel that this door was made for dogs. Cats have longer tails, and their tails are sensitive. So, this product is probably OK for a dog, but not for a cat.

Berndes nonstick is the best I've ever used, and I cook a lot. I hope I never have to use another pan to make an omelette (8-inch non-stick skillet), because Berndes heats evenly, browns beautifully and is a cinch to clean.
I bought this for making stovetop rice pilaf (recipe uses ton of fresh herbs so I need large container), fried rice, etc, and oven dishes because without the handle it looks nice as a serving dish.

(More customer reviews)For 32 years I had been buying, and throwing away, pots and pans which had been purchased on sale. It was what I thought I could afford. Why spend money on "good" housewares? It was only for cooking, right? Wrong...
I sigh when I think of the dinners spoiled because the pots didn't heat evenly or burned the food, as well as the hours wasted cleaning charred food from the bottom of once-shiny metal pots. The $ spent on the discards could have bought one piece of quality cookware which I would probably still own today. They were no bargain if I had to throw them away.
Such waste could have been avoided had someone told me about All Clad. This particular pot is used every night of the week. It heats evenly, food doesn't stick to it, and looks brand new after cleaning. An important factor is that the product is made in the USA, and not in China. American companies need our support so I am willing to pay a higher price for quality. My wish list for any occasion includes only a piece of All Clad.
