(More customer reviews)I have had Wustof knives for 25 years. That is I've never replaced them. If you take care of them they will last your lifetime. My chefs knife I use everyday. A few pulls across a steel once in a while and its as sharp as when it was new. This set was for my Father for his birthday. He was thrilled. He said the case was beautifuly made and the long tined fork really impressed him, he knew he could really get a grip on any roast with that fork. The knife was the best balanced and sharpest he can remember and he has had quite a few. Quite an impressive gift.

are there "lots" of pieces? well, yes. especially considering we purchased the 4-story model. but the instructions could not be easier to follow. and guess what? if you have a question about how something is supposed to look, there is a HUGE picture of a completed martin house on the box!
takes awhile to put together? well, yes. lots of nuts and screws to tighten. simply secure the nut while tightening the screw, and voila. the screws get tightened.
apparently, enough folks gave feedback, that depending where you order, you can choose to purchase it assembled... and pay a fairly hefty fee. me? i turned on the tv, and after a couple football games, had mine put together. very pleased with the materials and construction. should provide years of enjoyment for our martin "tenants". :)

(More customer reviews)The Wolfgang Puck Collection is fantastic as a full set of stainless steel cookware, however, as others have said, you need to know to first use oil ( I like Grapeseed for it's high heat tolerance) and then a bit of butter if you want that flavor, ( such as for scrambled eggs, etc..) After you're done, put a little water in the pan, use the spatula to loosen debris, then wipe. IT will be easier to clean once cooled down later on in the sink. You can't just put butter and make your food, then let it harden, and expect to not have to soak,and still use a stainless scouring pad. Taking the minute or two to do the above will make it a breeze. Then using stainless scrubber is still good, you can shine it right up, including the bottom, but fast, with nothing catching in the scour pad, (yuck!) I always had to use a scour pad this way with Revere Ware when I was a kid, nothing different, but until Wolfie showed the water method ( used by cooks in restaurants for years by the way) I never knew! My opinion with Teflon: Not worth it, if people don't take care of it, it peels and is then toxic, can't use a high heat. Forget putting in oven. YOu can use a higher heat with all Stainless all the way around, just have to learn a few simple tricks. ANy fool can cook with teflon, but it's limited and they don't hold up. Wolfgang puck holds up 10 years like new.. and going!

(More customer reviews)It's a solid quality item but no INSTRUCTIONS and it's a bit confusing. The mounting hardware has tabs that rotate into a groove on the Aluminium rod. These tabs each bear a stamped "IN" & "OUT" label. But it's the OUT portion of the tab that seemingly must be rotated to fit INside the groove on the rod. It's queer that no instruction sheet is supplied. (If it's not so, I'd appreciate an update here, if someone is in the mood :)
The Double Curtain Track Kit comes with two identical rods of the length ordered.

(More customer reviews)We bought a cheaper rotary Clothesline several months ago, which after collapsing three times had the connecting plastic(!) pieces completely broken. We decided to go with a more expensive one. This one which also came with a 5 year warranty and i quote: "Holds 3 To 4 Loads Of Washing". When we unpacked it, it looked more sturdy than the previous one but i had a bad feeling when i saw plastic connectors (in the middle, attaching the arms). And unfortunately this one didnt even last 2 months. Today after leaving our 1(!) load on the dryer in the rain the plastic pieces in the middle (the ones holding the bottom arms) bent and broke. 130$ for a bit over a month of low usage turned this into a large piece of garbage. Can only recommend it if you live in a desert.

(More customer reviews)After using the same pots and pans for 40 year, decided it was time to purchase a new set. Seemed like a good Christmas present.
Went to the internet to seek all the information I could find and made my decision. Coupon in hand I went to the store and discovered my choice for stainless cookware was much to heavy and it was empty.
Suddenly, rivted handles were not as important as weight. I had to start over and set about lifting all the stainless cookware to determine which would give me some weight without being too heavy. I don't know if this is a "senior" problem or if everyone finds some cookware very heavy.
Decided on the Farberware Millenium soft touch stainless and have not regretted my decision. I have the even cooking of the encapsulated bottom, I have the riveted handles that are never hot, I have the choice of putting them in the dishwasher and I have the option of using them in the oven.
All of my requirements have been met.

L'Equip Model 228 R.P.M Blender - by LEquip Review

(More customer reviews)So I got this blender after doing a bunch of research and wanting a blender that chops ice well, and makes smoothies well. (You need a really high speed blender or else the little strawberry seeds don't get chopped up, etc) This blender is great at that.
The two major downsides are: The canister breaks. A lot. We're on our third one now. Each of them has cracked and broken at the base where the blades attach. The first time it was replaced for free, and this time I'm told there is only a one year warranty on the canister (5 years on the motor) so i had to buy a new canister for $25 or so shipped. Bleh.
The other big downside is, there is very little bottom end speed control. For instance, lets say you want to have the lid off but the unit running on a low speed mixing up protein powder or something as you pour it in. It is VERY hard to get the unit to run at such a speed. Either the blades stop, or they are going too fast. It's really annoying to go through this every morning, trying to get the unit to settle at a good speed, only to have it increase/decrease as I take the lid off just because I jostled the machine a bit, and have to start over.
I LOVE how well it blends, but I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it because of the problems I've had with the canister and speed control.
Edit 10/23/2010 - Our current (3rd) canister is cracked again (but not leaking). Unfortunately, the blade assembly is worn out and needs to be replaced. Water is leaking out through the bearings inside it. Sighhhhh

(More customer reviews)I bought this panel to fit my sliding glass door for my new Yorkie. hoping to allow her the option of "going" outside instead of inside. However, the design of the panel is just not well thought out. The amazing gaps all around the panel make me very worried for not just the energy loss (a/c during the summer, and heat during the winter), but it really makes me worried for my safety. There is nothing at all allowing me to lock my slider into the panel, or allowing me to lock the panel into where the slider would have locked. It would be so easy for someone to pop the panel out of the frame and enter my home. Because I am a renter, I had hoped that this option would be an easy fix to the dog door issue. However, I am terribly disappointed, and will be returning this item to the home improvement store where I bought it.

(More customer reviews)Most of my cookware is from the All-Clad stainless steel line, as I require pots that are made of magnetic steel in order to work with my induction cooktop. I also like the workmanship of the All-Clad pots. I bought this Sitram stockpot after returning a similar pot by All-clad, having found, contrary to stipulation, that it was not induction capable.
The Sitram pots are sturdy, durable, and perform as represented. They are not as perfectly finished as the pricey All-Clads, but this need not concern you unless you are a well-heeled perfectionist. While the Sitram pots have a thick steel-aluminum-steel sandwich in their base, the aluminum does not extend up the sides. The All-Clads claim to have an aluminum core throughout the pot, but in my experience this is not a vital distinction.
I made my first batch of stock a few days ago using my new Sitram stockpot. I began by browning the chicken parts and onions in the stockpot on my induction cooktop, and can report that the Sitram pot performed admirably, distributing heat evenly throughout its base, and permitting an even and well-controlled browning of the food. Subsequent simmering of the stock also went very well.
Given its attractive price and solid capabilities, I can endorse this Sitram cookware without reserve.

Crystal Quest Triple 8 Stage undersink Flouride Water Filter System Review

(More customer reviews)Since you will also have to buy filter replacement cartridges from Crystal Quest for the life of the product, consider my review before buying.
Given the choice, I would not buy a Crystal Quest product again. This is due to the fact their Customer Service is terrible! (So is their Shipping Dep't and Quality control in my case - kind of scary!) I bought a similar product from them and it was missing parts. I called them and what followed is my worst customer service experience ever. They continuously reneged on promises made to me (several times), giving excuses when I called in (and I had to follow up myself EVERY time) such as "I asked so and so to call you" or "I was overruled by another dep't".
I am not alone - read other reviews for Crystal Quest products.
UPDATE: I ordered a water testing kit online to test the floride, chlorine, etc content of the undersink water filtering kit and cartridge I had received. Multiple tests (even at super low flow rates) revealed it DID NOT FILTER CHLORINE! (It left .25-.50 ppm of chlorine - the same as our tap water results.) Tests on my Brita filter DID filter all chlorine. So, I called customer service to explain and they kindly mailed me another filter - same result! I have sent back everything for a refund, since it does not work as intended. Who monitors these water filtering companies? I will be ordering now from a (hopefully) real water filtering company. I hope I have saved someone else the trouble of having to installing this product only to have to return it.

Pros-
Cost, you really cant get a single pot for the price on Amazon for this set.
Non-stick surface
Good weight/quality
Cons -
The large stock pot doesn't seem to be as thick or heavy duty as the other pots/pans.
Lids are kind of thin, I would think the might get banged up some.
Long ship time from amazon approximately 2+ weeks. They tell you that up front.
Overall - Again I'm trying to be fair, if your expecting some show pieces for you kitchen to display these probably aren't for you. If you want a nice working set of pots and pans you can't beat these for the price.Update 12/08- Since my review the price doubled on the Nordic Ware set. What was a great deal at $50 is just so-so at $100ish. Still a decent set, just not sure you couldn't piece together something else for the price range.

I'm so glad that I purchased this product. The food cooks faster and I haven't had any problems with cleaning. I never leave food in the pots overnight, always soak the pots with water and then rub 'Bar Keepers Secret' on the hard-to-remove spots (available at Target).
Note: I read that if you are allergic to nickel, you should avoid using stainless altogether.
